Louisburg, NC
Story By: GARY CUNARD, Times Publisher
Huge smiles were the obvious catch of the day Saturday, August 28th at the Take a Kid Fishin’ event that raised money for the Franklin County Community Foundation. The organization supports nonprofit organizations in Franklin County through grants — but Saturday the beneficiaries were a group of kids and adults who had a fun-filled afternoon and early evening on the Harris Farm on Mort Harris Road. Suffice it to say that fish were caught, smiles were common — and tall fish tales will be circulating around the county for weeks!
In the biggest fish category, Jimmy Gomez and Warren Thomas of Louisburg captured first followed by Libby and Sarah Cash of Louisburg. In the most-fish-caught category, Dylan and Rob Hudson of Kittrell captured first and in second were Dominick and Brett Latta of Wilson.
The Franklin County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). For further information, contact the NCCF Northern Piedmont Regional Associate Jeanne Lawson at 919-256-6914, or Al Wheless at 919-496-2255.
The NCCF is the single statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and was created 22 years ago to build capacity through philanthropy.
