Eric Schell and Bruce Eskow won the first tourney of the year with a great catch at Kerr Lake on May 1st. Eric and Bruce brought 7 bass to the scales weighing 17.30 pounds, good enough for a first place prize of $794. Eric and Bruce used crankbaits for the win. Eric has made it two in a row with winning the last event last year on the Roanoke River. Great job guys! Andy Evans and Brent Boyette almost pulled off their first victory in the the team trail with 7 bass totaling 17.10 lbs, good enough for 2nd place and a check for $589. They caught their fish on a pink senko. Phil Bain and Tim Wiltfong took 3rd place with 15.82 pounds and $486. Wesley Cashwell and Flash Butts took 4th with 15.78 lbs ($307) and Allan Haig and Doug Washburn took fifth with 15.52 ($179). Mike Collins and Rob Holly who both just returned from Afghanistan took 6th place with 15.27 lbs ($128) and there was a tie between the teams of Corey Leonard and Steve and Mike Eggers and Randy Carr with 15.25 pounds each. Mike Eggers and Randy Carr took big fish honors with a 4.15 pounder good enough for $192 and Keith Joyce and Ricky Ballance had the second big fish weighing in at 3.98 pounds, good for $128.
We had a total of 34 boats and the next tourney will be on the Roanoke River on June 11th. Come on out and enjoy the fun with the NC B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
